How to Play Neon Sling Swing Online

Neon Sling Swing is a physics-based climbing game for 1 to 16 players. Hold to hook onto a glowing node and pump your swing, then release at the right moment to launch toward the next node — all the way to the beacon at the top.

Objective

Reach the beacon at the top of the course before the rising surge catches you, or before your opponents in a race.

Setup

  • There's no board setup — the course is a chain of 32 glowing nodes leading up to a finish beacon.
  • You can play solo against the clock, or race other players through the same generated course at the same time.
  • A rising wall (the surge) climbs from below and gives you three lives before it ends your run.

How to Play, Step by Step

1

Hook onto a node

Hold the input to grab the nearest node and start swinging on it like a pendulum.

2

Pump the swing

Keep holding to build up speed on the swing — this alone won't gain you height, just momentum.

3

Release at the right moment

Let go near the top of your upswing to launch toward the next node. A well-timed release rockets you upward; a bad one falls short.

4

Climb past hazards

Later nodes add wind gusts, swaying positions, breakable nodes, and hazards to dodge mid-air — hooking a node is always safe, but flying through a hazard costs a life.

Rules to Know

  • Holding the grapple keeps you on the same node and builds swing momentum — it never gains you height by itself.
  • Releasing converts your swing's momentum into a launch toward the next node; timing the release is the entire skill of the game.
  • The rising surge gives you three lives (two second chances) before a touch ends your run — it holds still for the first six seconds.
  • The course gets progressively harder every few nodes: wind, moving nodes, breakable nodes and dodgeable hazards, then a sweeping laser hazard.

Tips & Strategy

Release right as you're near the top of the swing's arc, not at the bottom — releasing too early or late is the most common way to fall short.
Cracked nodes regrow after a while, so launch off them before they break rather than waiting.
Hooking any node, including hazardous-looking ones, is always safe — it's flying through a hazard mid-air that costs a life, not touching a node.
Golden nodes give an extra-hard launch pop — take them when you can reach one safely.

No. It's continuous, real-time physics — you're always in motion, either alone or racing others through the same course at the same time.

How many lives do I get?

Three. The rising surge below gives you two second chances after the first touch before a final catch ends your run.

Can I play Neon Sling Swing solo?

Yes — it works with just one player racing the clock, or up to 16 players racing the same course together.
