Mood rooms
Mood rooms: listen to music with friends online.
Four rooms that never go quiet. Pick a vibe and walk straight in — no signup, no queue to build, no awkward “what should we put on”. Vote the next track, react, or just leave it running in a tab while you work.

Rain, headphones, sound drifting through a dark room.

Four rooms, always on
Pick the one that matches what you are doing
Each room has its own sound and its own crowd. They run around the clock, so there is never an empty room and never a silent one.

soft drums · warm keys · low tempo
Study Lofi
The one people leave on for four hours. Steady, unintrusive, nothing with a hook big enough to pull you out of what you are doing.
now playing

downtempo · wide pads · slow build
Chill Beats
A step more present than lofi. Good for a long evening with friends in the room and nobody doing much talking.
now playing

brushed drums · upright bass · late set
Jazz Café
Rainy-window music. The room people go to when they want company without conversation, usually around midnight.
now playing

ambient · sparse · very slow
Night Vibes
Barely-there ambient for the end of the day. A lot of people fall asleep with this one running, which is the intended use.

How a mood room works
Everyone is at the same point in the same track
A mood room is not a playlist you each start separately. There is one position in one queue, and the room shares it — so when someone reacts to a track change, they are reacting to the same second you just heard.
Inside a room
What there is to do besides listen
Vote the next track
One tap moves something up the queue. Enough taps and the room's taste quietly shifts over the course of an evening.
React without typing
For when a track lands and you do not want to break the quiet. Reactions show up against the moment they were sent.
Chat, if the room wants to
Some rooms are silent for hours and then talk for twenty minutes. Text sits beside the player either way.
Open a mic
Push-to-talk over the music when you actually want to hang out rather than just co-listen.
Pull a friend into the same vibe
Send the room link and they land on the exact track you are on. This is the bit that makes long-distance listening work.
Or open your own
The four rooms above are permanent. You can also spin up a private room for a specific group from the home page.
When people use them
Four honest use cases
Listening together long distance
Same track, same second, two cities. Cheaper than a call and it does not need anyone to keep talking.
Background for work
Open in a tab, forget about it. If you want a timer and a focus streak with it, that is what study rooms are for.
Falling asleep
Night Vibes exists for this. No autoplay surprises, no track that suddenly doubles in volume.
Hosting a quiet hang
Music running, mics optional, nobody has to perform. Add a game room if the group wants something to do.
Nearby
Mood room or study room?
They overlap, so worth separating. A mood room is about the music — the vibe is the point, and people come and go. A study room is about the work — there is a Pomodoro timer, a session, and other people visibly grinding alongside you. Plenty of people keep one of each open.
Questions
Frequently asked
Is it free to listen to music with friends online here?
Yes, and there is no account step. Open a room, you are in. Signing up only keeps your settings and your own private rooms between visits.
Can my friends and I be in the same room at the same position?
That is the entire design. Send someone the room link and they arrive on the track you are already hearing, at the point you are hearing it.
Can I play my own music in a mood room?
The four permanent rooms run their own streams. To put on something specific for a group, a YouTube room is the right tool — shared queue, anyone can add.
Do mood rooms work on a phone?
Yes. It is a web page, so a phone browser is fine. People often leave one running on a phone overnight.
What is the difference between a mood room and a study room?
A mood room is built around the music and stays open permanently. A study room is built around a focus session, with a timer and other people working in view.
Are strangers in these rooms, or just friends?
The four permanent rooms are public, so you will meet whoever is in there. If you want friends only, open a private room instead and share the link.
